Hi Chapo, it's Jon Higgins here from GameBanana.

I know you have previously stated that 17B would never be given to us, however it would be a great shame to loose a site like yours and I am sure many people would miss it.

It would probably be too hard for us to buy 17buddies as we are very busy with our current websites, as well as legal issues surrounding your ported content. However if you or the staff here are interested in continuing to run the site we may be able to take over the technical and monetary side of 17B by hosting it on one of our 10 high end servers. Thus allowing you guys to focus all your time on the community.

Alternatively if you no longer want to work on the site we would be interested to buy the database and files off you for a one off lump sum.

If there is anything we can do to help you guys out, or if you have any other propositions please let us know either on here or by sending an email to Jon@machinefloor.com.

Hey Jon, if you control anything over at gamebanana maybe you can explain why there is no longer DoD 1.3 listed in you game drop down list.

Is it possible to keep the same current host (OVH) if donations increase?

For decent web hosting , OVH proposes servers at 12€ / month (144 € / year).

Equivalent to the server we have now is more than 98 € / month ( 1176 € /year)

We can't rely solely on donations to pay such a server, although we occasionally have members like you who make huge donations (IMG:http://forum.17buddies.rocks/style_emoticons/default/ami2.gif)

The future server will be necessarily less efficient than the one we have now.

Numerous functionalities will necessarily be removed for the new server to host the site without being too slow. (IMG:http://forum.17buddies.rocks/style_emoticons/default/icon_neutral.gif)

We don't want to lose this resource so has there been any firm decision as to what will happen with 17buddies? Also, I would be willing to admin or co-admin for the site if you needed someone.

My Server provider is a OVH reseller. I can buy the KS1/3 Server for yearly 90,-(or)270,- Euro. I pay with Paysafecard or Bitcoin ..

17Buddies will not die with the help of EatingPizza who provided the funds for the lease of a new server and so we will be able to migrate prior to 20 April. The whole community 17Buddies thanks EatingPizza for his help and involvement in the future of the site.

Of course, you can still downloads maps.

i visit 17buddies almost everyday and my fovorite map sorce. i am cs 1.6 server manager from 5 years, i am sad to hear that 17buddies.net will close... i use blue host for my web host +fast download yearly i pay 120 $ and i wont coplaint for my host, cheap and it gives unlimited bandwith and storage.
