Can't Update A Map, tag_death_machina |

After one of the times the site was in maintenance mode my map tag_death_machina lost it's screenshot and the .zip download seems to be missing.
When I try uploading a new screenshot it says it's successful but the image never appears. When I try re-uploading tag_death_machina.zip it simply sits on the upload forever. |

Submitted an update for zm_hunk with the following changes: renamed the map folder to maps, removed the wad folder and readded the wad files in the same directory as the maps folder, renamed the the ReadMe! txt file to zm_hunk, and finally edited zm_hunk.bsp and zm_hunk.res to remove the superfluous pack.wad requirement which prevented the map from launching.
Ideally I would have just recompiled the map and only include the custom textures it actually uses since one of the wads is 33mb while only providing a dozen textures or so. But that would been out of scope and that point I'd have might as well renamed the map since it would have mismatched with the original. On the other hand the edits I did make should cause no mismatch. Alternatively, I could have edited the wads themselves to remove all textures the map doesn't use and make them lightweight as a result, but that would have gone against archival purposes as the extra custom textures would have been discarded in the process. So I think the changes I did end up making are justified since they're intended to make the map functional (installable and playable) while preserving all the resources it comes with. |
