Byplt-authored Maps: Oddballs Options

Hi all,

While trying to find any author info of the remaining byplt-authored maps, I've stumbled upon a handful of them that give me some doubt about their actual creator due to various reasons.

Below is a list accompanied with some small explanation per situation.

"BOEHKOMAT" or "PeTrOs9n"
Text file on 17Buddies lists "PeTrOs9n" as author rather than the currently chosen "BOEHKOMAT". "PeTrOs9n" is also the one that is displayed at GameBanana.
gg_dusty_p vs gg_dusty

"China", "GAO", or "China ,GAO"
Is China the country or is it part of the author name? And is GAO part of the author name or is it from a server ( see link below that line )?
gg_cartoonpk

"d4zo." or "unknown"
First one received all credit if we read the text file but there were a decent amout of changes been done to, imo, give authorship to the remaker who sadly remains unknown.

"Hazzord YT9" or "Ghost1716606"
On both comparisons is "Hazzord YT9" credited on 17Buddies and "Ghost1716606" on Gamebanana. But on the 17Buddies version of as_sluipmoord, inside the text file we can read "MAP : de_welkomin". So either the mapper took a copy of one of his already existing text files and forgot to change the contents of that file or the person who uploaded took the wrong text file. The second being unlikely as it also requires a manual change of the filename itself.

"Marmelo" or "kellente"

Depending on what exactly has been changed in the remake will determine the author.

"Adam Sinclair" ( = "Cha Siu Fan"? )
On both maps inside the text file can we see "(Glock18)" behind the author name. I presume this can be treated as an "aka"? If yes then "Cha Siu Fan" & "Adam Sinclair" are the same person if the info inside thet text files is correct.

"Manu"
First 3 screenshots of gg_am_ramp display Spanish words while the text file of gg_courtyard shows english, both crediting "Manu".

"zink"
First map credits "zink", visible in the first screenshot & in the text file, second map is just an existing map with the same author name as reference to which mapper it might be.

First map has "-220645" added to the name while the second one has not. Note that one of the files of the GameBanana version is named "save-CS_HQ-220645.txt". P.s.: We can ignore the fact the first map is uploaded in the 1.6 category & the second one in cz as they share the same game engine. In other words: the maps can still be identical while being in different sub mods.

Unpwnable.
Is (s)he really the author or did (s)he erroneously filled in the author field? My suspicion got raised by the small text provided on the GameBanana version probably by the submitter? Plus the fact the submitter's name is part of the mapname.

@qoLmE I didn't say they are the same map. Both main screens say the author is Nymph and they are similar enough to presume v3 is just a newer version by the same author.

Also how can hazik666 have created the map when the main screen clearly says it's by d4z0? It's easy to list yourself as creator for no reason. It's harder to create your own main screen. Nonewhere does it say it's a remake either.

I assumed you thought they were since you provided the GameBanana link. My bad. Must have been the lack of sleep.

I don't know if you installed the 17Buddies version to acknowledge "Nymph" being displayed but if you didn't: You have some seriously good eyes man.
I had to install the map to check and indeed in both cases it's the same author. I should have checked myself before putting it in this list. Again my bad...

As any more info is absent, the most likely outcome is what you just said.
Noone is gonna make a banner over a screenshot with a false authorship claim. Technically it's possible but what are the benefits in the first place for any uploader to do so?
Besides, who says the screenshots were uploaded by the submitter? I don't know any GameBanana features but maybe you must always include at least 1 screenshot when submitting a map ( or mod as it is listed as such on that site ).
On 17Buddies you can submit even without a mainscreen, let alone additional ones.

And like you said, much easier to erroneously fill in the author field than to alter screens...
Upon retrieving the lost authors of the byplt maps, I've stumbled upon a few examples on GameBanana where the "Creator" field was obviously mistaken for keywords ( for searching purposes ) by the submitter.
