Goodbye Buddies Options

The next April 20 17Buddies will close. The server on which the site is hosted will not be renewed and without any alternative, we can not continue to provide the CS maps as we have done for over 11 fantastic years. It was a great adventure, but it will stop here. Our only option for continuing is to find free php/mysql hosting server able to accommodate 400GB of maps and support 2,000 users/day. If you think you have a solution or that you can help 17Buddies, please post in this topic urgently.

Le serveur sur lequel nous sommes hébergés ne sera pas renouvelé et sans autre solution nous ne pourrons pas continuer à vous fournir les maps CS comme nous l'avons fait pendant ces fantastiques 11 dernières années. La seule solution pour pouvoir continuer est de trouver un serveur php/mysql gratuit capable d'acceuillir les 400Go de maps CS et de supporter nos 2000 visiteurs uniques quotidiens. Si vous pensez avoir une solution qui puisse nous aider, merci de poster rapidement dans ce topic.

Hi Chapo, it's Jon Higgins here from GameBanana.

I know you have previously stated that 17B would never be given to us, however it would be a great shame to loose a site like yours and I am sure many people would miss it.

It would probably be too hard for us to buy 17buddies as we are very busy with our current websites, as well as legal issues surrounding your ported content. However if you or the staff here are interested in continuing to run the site we may be able to take over the technical and monetary side of 17B by hosting it on one of our 10 high end servers. Thus allowing you guys to focus all your time on the community.

Alternatively if you no longer want to work on the site we would be interested to buy the database and files off you for a one off lump sum.
