How Can I Update The Old Map With A New Version? Options

I uploaded a map but I want to update it with a new fixed version. How can I do that? Or can I somehow delete the old map?

I also noticed, that maps don't tend to be updated with new upload.

For example I tried to update those submissions which didn't contain the map on the screenshot:

But they still feature just the other map, which I also reuploaded under a different name. (see my comments)

Is it possible that you replace the respective submissions with the "real" map?

Well, it's not my cup of tea if the side still provides outdated versions of maps.

The author updated this map some time ago to provide a custom sky texture.
This sky texture is already provided within the download but since the bsp file is still the old one,
players won't see the new sky texture ingame.

If you're annoyed about people asking for updates, why not update reuploaded maps automatically?

When you update/edit a map it should be uploaded with a different name (unless its only an entity change) , this prevents anyone who has the old map getting kicked with "your map differs from the servers error". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nono.gif) If you look around you will see loads of maps with b1 b2 v1 v2 ect... and thats the reason why.

I would ask the creator to do what every other mapper does and rename CS_GABBA.bsp to CS_GABBA_v1.bsp or CS_GABBA_b1.bsp and there will be no problems. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye.gif)

Well, as you may already know with your grand holy knowledge:
Changing the sky is just an entity change - namely the change of one property in the worldspawn entity.
Since this doesn't cause your described map differ errors - why should he rename it?

Funny thing with the missing update here (which I already mentioned):
The sky texture files are provided within the download (and take disc space of 17b as well as of every user downloadling) but wouldn't appear ingame because of the outdated file. Well, it's your choice of having crap on your site - not my cup of tea.

I've not tested it but since entites are handled server side don't they see the new sky?

There are no new files for this map, either another admin fixed it or you need to upload an updated map with the same name and tell us in the maps comments or better still the shout box then someone will get around to it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ami2.gif)

The only thing people are visiting this site is the huge size of the map database.
This is everything you have. And you won't improve with trolling users who took care about your site.

I will take my consequences. I will delete my account and won't contribute to your site anymore. My time is much better spent on gamebanana which is the much better modding site with an active community. They still miss some of the maps you have - but this could easily be fixed.

si le site est dans cette état il y a un problème communication
faire quelque blague ok mais pas trop ,mieux vaut se taire

on est déjà pas la même langue ,il faut bien sûr se servir d'un transat
et on sait le translate n'est pas des plus fin a ce sujet

alors penser aux autres des map il y en a pas mal mais voila
pour gérer il faut de représentent qui ont dû temp et depuis un certain temp

il manque ce représentent ,en ce qui me concerne j'ai 78 ans et tout mon temp
mais voilà j'ai le moyen de couper certaine chose mais tout compte fait

ceci un distributeur de carte pour jouer non ,les dispute vous avez vu quelques chose a ce sujet
