Je ne pouvais pas passer à coté de cet événement majeur dans la vie de 17's Buddies sans vous le faire partager:

Ce soir (*), 17's Buddies vient de passer le cap symbolique de 50000 maps uniques, confortant notre position de numéro 1 mondial en nombre de maps!

C'est grâce à votre travail et à votre fidélité à tous que nous en somme rendu là et je tenais donc à vous dire un grand merci !

Quand on a commencé fin 2004, on avait environ 2000 maps et lorsqu'on a passé les 5000 4 mois plus tard, c'était l'évenement (IMG:http://forum.17buddies.rocks/style_emoticons/default/icon_lol.gif)

I had lots of maps uploaded to FPSBanana.. And now i see 5 of them here

I'm not with the staff but I would like to answer you.

Why "too bad" ? The purpose of this site is to gather as many maps as possible, so it's easy to search and you have tools you don't have on others sites. I don't see the problem, like google which indexes sites, this site indexes maps. What's wrong ?
Almost all the sites which provide a map database have maps from others sites too.
You talk about asking the permission, that's just not possible to ask each mapper. You will encounter many issues. It's a free service which help to promote many unknown maps. The map is not altered or something. It's duplicated. I would like to see a mapper not happy to have his map used by many people because indexed on this site.

Knowing such files are public and original author/comment are respected, it contributes to promote the map, for the sake of sharing and having a centralized place for people searching a new map. I see nothing where it could hurt. By uploading a map on internet you authorize anyone to have it. Once a server has the map, many players will share it with another players. So, asking the permission is pointless.

I don't know if Chapo does that, but I would not be against to send an email, if found in a .txt or something, to the author telling him his map has been added automatically on this site, and if he wants to remove it, feel free to ask.

Hi all,

Congratulations guys and hopefully more maps will be available further.

Regarding some comments or Troll (i like this kind of sentence e.g . It is fine for me but ask the permission!)
Ask the permission to who . Maps are available on the net and de facto free to be used by anybody. If you do not want the map to be used so put a disclaimer and register your map into a commercial site (may i remind that counter strike is a free mode)

By the way and hopefully mappers put the map online for the overall counter strike community and only some impotent and selfish trolls always complain lol (I guess they are not even map makers)

For the rest, all has been said.

I just want to say that we are always respecting mappers and their work. We publish all disclaimers (when they are presents in archive) and we always publish mapper's informations when we have them (It was the object of our previous mail)

Not all of downloads sites do the same ...

But if you want us to remove your maps, not a problem. Tell me, give me a link and we will suppress them immediatly.

Just one thing:

In order to respect privacy (someone spotted this yesterday), i have coded a script that automatically change emails from automated comments and mask them.

Now mapper's mail doesn't appears directly in map's details. (but they are still present in provided archives because we don't modify files)

Eh bien tout d abord felicitation , mais sur le contexte je reste perplexe , car sur 50 000 maps ils y a quand meme un sacrée paquet de n importe quoi , a savoir des maps "injouable" ou fait a la "va vite" je ne dit pas , chaqun a le droit de ce lancer , j ais mois meme debuter , mais ce que je reproche sur le fond du problem , ces que moi en moyene il me faud de 4 a 6 mois pour cree une map , je la teste plus ieur foie sur mon serveur , a fin de finir top ( jouable quillibrée) donc quand je poste sur 17BD je suis un peut decue que 2 jours apres elle n apparet plus en page d acceuille , a savoir certains poste plus de 10 maps part jours , je pense donc q un petit control histoire de validée serais vraiment bienvenue , mais bon cela n empeche pas : longue vie a 17BD , tres bon site (IMG:http://forum.17buddies.rocks/style_emoticons/default/icon_kimouss.gif)

D'ou la création de la notation des maps et du classement. Si tu regardes la map classée 1ere, c'est une map
de toute beauté, et pour tout dire certainement une des plus belle de Cs1.6...
C'est un peu le cas aussi pour les maps suivantes et là, après on revient au problème qui est : Une map
est classée pour sa beauté ou est classée parce que jouée ...
De même pour le bas du classement, on va dire que c'est le fond de la poubelle, en général.

Effectivement S3B a raison: si vous ne voulez pas voir les meilleures maps s'enfoncer aux fin fonds de notre base, il faut penser à les commenter, les noter, les apprécier et les partager, chose que peu de membres pensent à faire.
