Been awhile since the last time I've been on here, at least a few years. I've been working on a new map while I'm going to school and it's pretty much done. Testing, texture alignment and flag/objective placement is all I have left on this map.

dod_medicinal - capture the flag

I'm 99% done.

Allies drop from gliders way, way , way above the map. In fact when you spawn, you can't even see the ground! Parachute plugin is not necessary but does add more realism to the map.

I have done a work around on allies spawn. The first version, I made out of brushes and textures from glider. The newest version use's glider models and clip brush around the body and cockpit of the glider. The results came out better than expected.

I like all things custom, so I took the liberty of creating custom flag icons for my map. smile.gif



I found a white flag off the internet, overlay with green or red and found bitmap images that I could use for my capture areas. Shrinked them down to 32x32 which is the standard for game icons in HL1.

6 main capture points.

I'm saving the second mission for PART 2 of the map. So, dod_medicinal_b1 is a capture the flag map and dod_medicianl_p2 or something will be a hostage rescue map which I'm still working on.

As the allies free fall from the gliders down to the ground, there are flak explosions going off and it will take away some health from the allies. The flak cannon way, way up on the hill opposite of where the allies start can be destroyed by stealing the tnt from the axis compound in a truck. This will turn off the flak explosions and allies wont get hurt as they fall.

Beta version 1 is out. I removed the flak cannon objective and I'm saving it for part 2 (Hostage rescue).

PART 2 - Goes a little something like this:

The allies jump from the gliders way up in the sky. They must infiltrate the Axis base and rescue hostages, bring them back to the runway and take off in the glider which lands on the runway periodically (randomly). I got the idea off of dod_festung_v4 but instead of escaping from a rail car, it will be a glider smile.gif The Axis team will be on a timer and allies win 10 points per hostage rescue.

Should be grand!
